ScopeLine

Comparison

An EasyScope alternative that stays free for the change-order habit

EasyScope free (Checked November 2026, easyscope.io): 3 active projects, 3 change orders/month, 5 AI scope detections/month; client approval links with no client account.

ScopeLine free: 3 active projects; log extras and send approval links with no published monthly change-order cap on the free plan; plus public no-login tools like /scope-check. No card.

What both tools are trying to solve

The "one small thing" ask that never gets priced. A client pings mid-project; you say yes to keep the relationship, and your effective rate quietly drops. Both EasyScope and ScopeLine help you name the gap, put a price on it and get written approval before you start. For the habit itself, see how to charge for extra work and the free change order template.

When EasyScope is a better fit

When ScopeLine is a better fit

Try the free workflow before you pick a paid tool

  1. Paste a client ask into /scope-check (rule-based, no login).
  2. Copy a reply from /reply-scripts or the public GitHub mirror at eng2wed/out-of-scope-scripts.
  3. Fill the /change-order-template or /change-request-form.
  4. Track ongoing projects in the ScopeLine free tracker (3 active projects, no card).

FAQ

Is ScopeLine free forever for 3 active projects?
Yes. The free plan covers 3 active projects with no card. You can log extras, send client approval links and copy reply lines. Pro ($12/mo when checkout is live) removes the project cap. Pricing does not publish a monthly change-order cap on the free plan.
Does my client need an account to approve a change order?
No. Clients approve or decline through a secure link with no login — same idea as EasyScope’s client approval links.
How is ScopeLine different from a Word change-order template?
A Word file is a one-off document. ScopeLine also tracks the original deal, logs each extra request against it and turns extras into change orders the client can approve. For a one-off document you can still use the free no-login /change-order-template or /change-request-form.
Does ScopeLine have AI scope detection like EasyScope?
No. ScopeLine does not claim AI detection. The free /scope-check tool is rule-based: paste the agreed scope and the new request to see in-scope, out-of-scope or unclear, with a copy-ready reply. It runs in the browser with no login.
What about MonoDesk as a scope-creep tool?
MonoDesk is a full creative workspace with AI features, not a dedicated change-order tracker. If you mainly need to price extras and get client approval on a link, a focused tool like ScopeLine or EasyScope is a closer fit. Check their site for current MonoDesk plans.
When should I pick EasyScope instead?
Choose EasyScope when you want AI paste-detect plus invoicing in one paid stack, EU Factur-X prep, signatures, or unlimited projects on Starter at $9/mo. Those are EasyScope strengths; ScopeLine’s wedge is the free tier without a published 3 CO/month cap plus no-login public tools.
